Tennis coverage at Roland-Garros is set for a major digital expansion as Roland-Garros introduces a new broadcast format featuring John McEnroe and Patrick McEnroe.
The duo will host a two-hour daily whiparound show titled “Mac Zone”, airing on truTV, with the first hour simulcast live on YouTube during the opening six days of the tournament.
The show will begin around 9 a.m. ET and is designed to offer a more dynamic, interactive viewing experience, allowing the McEnroes to move between matches, engage with players on-site, and react in real time to fan comments coming from digital platforms.
Produced as part of TNT Sports’ broader coverage of Roland-Garros, the program reflects a growing strategy among broadcasters to integrate traditional television coverage with online platforms to reach younger and more global audiences.
TNT Sports executives say the format aims to modernize tennis presentation while maintaining full match coverage across TNT and HBO Max, while using YouTube to create more accessible, shareable content.
The initiative also includes digital talent integration, with creators and media personalities helping bridge interaction between viewers, players, and commentators, producing “clippable” highlights designed for social media distribution.
Following strong audience growth in recent editions, Roland-Garros continues to position itself as one of the most digitally forward Grand Slam events in tennis.
