Bundesliga club SC Freiburg recorded its highest-ever revenue in the 2025/26 financial year, generating €212.1 million and posting a net profit of €30.5 million. Revenue increased by 30.3% from €162.8 million in the previous season.
The club’s financial performance was supported by its run to the UEFA Europa League final, a place in the DFB-Pokal semi-finals and significant profits from player transfers. Freiburg played the Europa League final in Istanbul, with its performances in both competitions contributing to its financial results.
Net Profit Rises by 158%
Freiburg’s net profit increased from €11.8 million in 2024/25 to €30.5 million in 2025/26, an improvement of €18.7 million and approximately 158% year-on-year.
Revenue also surpassed the club’s previous record of €203.1 million, set in 2023/24. Freiburg’s revenue had fallen to €162.8 million in 2024/25, when the club did not participate in European competition.
Oliver Leki, SC Freiburg’s Executive Board Member for Finance, Organisation and Marketing, said the club’s Europa League final appearance, its DFB-Pokal semi-final run and significant profits from player transfers had made major contributions to the financial result.
Equity Reaches €194.2m as Club Remains Debt-Free
As of 30 June 2026, Freiburg’s equity had increased to €194.2 million, up from €163.7 million a year earlier. Total assets also rose from €197.9 million to €244.7 million.
The figures imply an equity ratio of approximately 79.4%, compared with 82.7% in the previous financial year. The decline reflected the expansion of the club’s total assets.
Freiburg also confirmed that it remains free of bank debt.
The results highlight how sporting success and player trading can translate into financial growth, with Freiburg combining record revenue and higher profitability with a strengthened equity position.
