UK and Ireland broadcasting giant Sky has strengthened its foothold in women’s boxing after securing a multi-year rights agreement with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), covering its all-female fight platform MVPW.
Under the agreement, Sky Sports becomes the exclusive broadcaster of two annual MVPW fight nights in the UK and Ireland, signaling a continued push to elevate women’s combat sports.
High-Profile Fight Nights Begin in London
The first event under the new deal is set for April 5, 2026, at London’s Olympia, featuring a strong double main event lineup. Rising British star Caroline Dubois will face former world champion Terri Harper, while Ellie Scotney takes on Mayelli Flores.
Sky Sports will also broadcast selected MVPW bouts from the United States, beginning with an event staged at Madison Square Garden on April 17.
Strategic Push in Women’s Boxing
The deal builds on Sky’s growing investment in boxing content. Earlier this month, the broadcaster partnered with Zuffa Boxing, further expanding its fight sports portfolio.
Sky has already demonstrated the commercial potential of women’s boxing, recording its highest-ever live audience for women’s sport during the historic 2022 all-female card headlined by Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall.
Streaming Platforms Intensify Competition
The move comes amid intensifying competition in boxing media rights. Recently, Netflix secured global rights to the upcoming “Rousey vs Carano†fight scheduled for May 16 in Los Angeles, continuing its expansion into live sports.
Meanwhile, major promoter Matchroom Boxing has extended its partnership with DAZN, underlining the growing fragmentation—and opportunity—within boxing’s global broadcast landscape.
A Growing Market for Women’s Combat Sports
Sky’s latest agreement reinforces a broader industry trend: women’s boxing is no longer a niche product but a fast-growing commercial property. With consistent scheduling, elite talent, and increased visibility, MVPW could become a cornerstone of the sport’s next growth phase.
