Global confectionery brand Snickers has once again leveraged its iconic slogan, “You’re not you when you’re hungry,” by partnering with renowned football manager José Mourinho in a new high-impact campaign.
Part of the Mars Incorporated portfolio, Snickers has spent over 15 years building its brand identity through celebrity-driven storytelling. Since its launch in 2010, the campaign platform has consistently showcased how hunger humorously alters behavior, reinforcing a recognizable and enduring message.
In the latest installment, Mourinho appears in an unexpected role—as a Viking leader. The campaign plays on contrast and irony: instead of leading warriors into battle, he is preoccupied with tactical analysis, only regaining his commanding presence after eating a Snickers bar. The concept highlights the brand’s signature humorous tone while demonstrating the transformative effect of hunger.
The campaign rolled out globally, with an eight-week run in Poland beginning on August 10, 2025. It underscores the continued effectiveness of combining sports figures with storytelling to create engaging, memorable content.
From a business perspective, the campaign reflects several key marketing strengths: the use of globally recognized personalities to boost visibility, a consistent message that strengthens long-term brand equity, and the ability to generate reach in the tens of millions.
This collaboration stands as a clear example of how sport and marketing intersect to amplify the communication strategies of global brands.
