SoFi Stadium to transform into olympic swimming venue

Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, currently hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 clash between Spain and Austria, is set for a remarkable transformation ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games.

Under the LA28 plans, the stadium will be converted into a massive aquatic venue for Olympic swimming competitions. What makes the project particularly striking is the speed of the transition: SoFi Stadium will host the Opening Ceremony of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and, just seven days later, an Olympic-sized swimming complex will already be fully installed inside the venue.

The temporary pool infrastructure highlights the growing versatility of modern sports facilities, allowing one stadium to accommodate two of the world’s biggest sporting spectacles within a matter of days.

Widely regarded as one of the most advanced venues in professional sports, SoFi Stadium’s rapid transformation into an Olympic natatorium is expected to become one of the most impressive engineering and operational achievements of the LA28 Games.
