Sunset+Vine has found its new architect for a digital-first future. The UK production powerhouse has appointed Duncan East as its chief executive, a move designed to bridge the gap between traditional broadcasting prestige and the modern demands of streaming and digital-native content.
East joins from Buzz16, but he is perhaps best known for his twenty-year tenure at Sky Sports. As the former Director of Creative Output for flagship properties like the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, East brings a level of institutional authority that is rare in the independent production sector.
His mandate is ambitious: scaling Sunset+Vine’s international footprint while integrating original and digital content into its established host broadcasting services. With existing contracts for Amazon Prime Video and the BBC, the firm is betting that East’s “innovation-led” approach will secure its dominance as rights holders increasingly look for multi-platform solutions.
“Duncan instinctively understands the craft and commercial engine of modern sports media,” said Jennifer Roberts, CEO of parent company Tinopolis Group. In an era where the delivery of sports is changing as fast as the games themselves, East’s appointment is a clear signal of intent.
