Mexican media giant TelevisaUnivision has secured a landmark multi-year agreement with Major League Baseball, ensuring the sport’s home in Mexico through the 2028 season. Starting in 2026, the broadcaster will air 55 regular-season weekend games annually across its Channel 5 and Channel 9 networks, complemented by digital streaming via the ViX platform.

The deal significantly bolsters Televisa’s sports portfolio, extending into the postseason with weekend coverage of the Divisional and Championship Series, and exclusive rights to every game of the World Series. Beyond the professional league, the partnership includes the highly anticipated 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC). With 26 of Mexico’s 30-man national roster currently playing in the MLB—including icons like Randy Arozarena and Jarren Duran—the deal arrives just as Mexico looks to build on its 2023 semi-final success.
