Uber Partners with Barcelona Open to Streamline Fan Mobility

Uber Partners with Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell as Mobility Provider

Uber Technologies Inc. has joined the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell as its official mobility partner, reinforcing the role of transport services in enhancing live sports experiences.

The agreement covers the 73rd edition of the historic tournament, also known as the Trofeo Conde de Godó, and focuses on improving how spectators arrive at and depart from the venue.

Dedicated access points and smoother flow

As part of the collaboration, Uber will establish a designated pickup and drop-off point near the tournament venue. The setup is designed to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow while offering fans a more organized and efficient travel experience.

This infrastructure aims to simplify logistics for attendees, particularly during peak arrival and departure times when demand is highest.

Incentives for new users

To encourage adoption, Uber will introduce a promotional campaign offering discounted rides for first-time users traveling to or from the event. The initiative is intended to integrate mobility services more directly into the fan journey while increasing user engagement with the platform.

Strengthening presence in Barcelona

The partnership builds on Uber’s broader involvement in the city of Barcelona, where it already collaborates with institutions such as FC Barcelona and the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Uber also reports that more than 2,000 taxi drivers in the region use its platform to generate additional income, highlighting its hybrid approach to urban mobility.

Expanding the sports mobility ecosystem

By integrating mobility solutions into major sporting events, Uber continues to position itself as a key infrastructure partner in live entertainment.

For the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, the collaboration reflects a broader trend in sports business: enhancing the end-to-end fan experience beyond the stadium or venue itself.
