Ticket sales for the 2026 US Open have triggered massive demand and rapidly rising resale prices, with face-value tickets selling out within hours.
The first batch of tickets became available through the American Express presale on Tuesday, leading to enormous online queues for premium sessions, especially the men’s singles final at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Social media users shared screenshots showing more than 430,000 people waiting in the virtual queue for final tickets, despite the stadium’s capacity being around 23,000 spectators.
Resale prices quickly surged across ticket platforms. While standard one-day grounds passes originally ranged from $65 to $135, only resale tickets remain available, currently priced between roughly $235 and $450 before fees.
Tickets for the men’s singles final on September 13 have reportedly reached prices of up to $30,000 on resale marketplaces.

USTA said demand for the tournament “continues to be extraordinary,” adding that the majority of presale inventory sold out within the first few hours.
The organization also noted that some resale listings may come from full-tournament ticket holders legally reselling their seats under New York state law.
Meanwhile, Ticketmaster stated that it blocks around 20 billion bot attempts each month in an effort to reduce automated ticket reselling.
The US Open set a new attendance record last year with 1.14 million spectators across the tournament.
