Volkswagen Signs Major Sponsorship Deal with CBF and Brazil National Team for 2026-2027

Volkswagen do Brasil announces a 2-year sponsorship of the CBF. Learn about the 2027 Women's World Cup support and the upcoming football-themed special edition car.

Volkswagen do Brasil officially announced a new sponsorship agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on Monday. The partnership will cover the men’s, women’s, and youth national teams throughout the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

The deal was finalized at the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, attended by Ciro Possobom (CEO of Volkswagen do Brasil) and Samir Xaud (President of the CBF).

Uniting Two National Passions

“Volkswagen’s support for the CBF and the Brazilian national team fills us with pride, especially during the symbolic years of 2026 and 2027,” stated Ciro Possobom. “We are taking the field to unite two passions that move Brazil: cars and football. Every Brazilian has a story involving both a Volkswagen and our national team.”

Focus on 2027 Women’s World Cup

A key pillar of the agreement is the support for the Brazilian Women’s National Team. Volkswagen will be a primary partner during the buildup to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Brazil—marking the first time the tournament will be held in South America.

As part of the collaboration, the automaker teased the launch of a special edition football-themed vehicle. While specific details remain under wraps, Volkswagen has a history of successful sport-themed models, having released eight special series in the past, including popular versions of the Gol and Fox.

A Growing Global Football Portfolio

This isn’t Volkswagen’s first time on the Brazilian jersey; the brand previously sponsored the “Seleção” between 2009 and 2014. This move strengthens the company’s massive global sports portfolio, which currently includes:

  • National Teams: Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Canada, and the USA.
  • Leagues: Title partnerships with Italy’s Serie A and Spain’s LaLiga.
  • Women’s Football: Official partner for the 2022 and 2025 UEFA Women’s Euro.
