Warner Bros. Discovery extends Giro d’Italia broadcast rights through 2029

Giro d’Italia will remain on Warner Bros. Discovery platforms through at least 2029 after the company secured a long-term rights extension with organizer RCS Sport.

The deal covers a wide portfolio of cycling events, including the Giro d’Italia Women, as well as major classics such as Milan–San Remo, Strade Bianche and Il Lombardia. Coverage will continue across WBD’s European networks and its U.S. platforms, including Eurosport, TNT Sports and streaming via HBO Max.

The agreement extends a partnership that dates back more than three decades, with WBD (via Eurosport) first broadcasting the Giro in Europe in 1998. It also reinforces the company’s position as one of the dominant global broadcasters in professional cycling.

From a media perspective, the renewal reflects the increasing value of long-term rights stability in endurance sports, where consistent storytelling and year-round coverage help drive audience retention. WBD reported strong digital growth from previous editions of the Giro, with significant increases in streaming and social media engagement.

For the Giro d’Italia, the deal ensures continued global exposure across more than 50 European markets and North America, securing its place as one of the most widely distributed cycling events in the world.
