A new 75,000-seat arena has officially opened in Davao City, Philippines, becoming what is believed to be the largest indoor arena in the world.
Kingdome Davao will host a wide range of events, from major music concerts to religious gatherings. Construction on the venue, located along Carlos P. Garcia Highway, began in 2012.
With a capacity of 75,000, the new facility surpasses the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, which seats 55,000 and previously held the title of the world’s largest indoor arena.
Designed to withstand earthquakes, Kingdome Davao forms part of the wider Kingdom Globalar City development and is located close to Davao International Airport.
The Philippine Arena, which opened in 2014, was among the venues used during the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and has hosted numerous major concerts over the years.
With its 75,000-seat capacity, Kingdome Davao marks a major addition to the Philippines’ events and entertainment infrastructure while taking over the title of the world’s largest indoor arena.
