The WTA is relocating its headquarters to Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of a wider agreement with local authorities that will also bring three editions of the season-ending WTA Finals to the city.
The agreement gives Charlotte a more prominent role in the WTA’s global operations, combining a long-term institutional presence with the hosting of one of women’s tennis’ biggest annual events.
The relocation also adds a commercial dimension to Charlotte’s relationship with the WTA, with the city set to benefit from the visibility and economic activity associated with hosting the Finals while becoming home to the organisation’s headquarters.
For the WTA, the agreement represents a significant commitment to Charlotte, extending the partnership beyond tournament hosting and establishing the city as a longer-term base for the organisation.
