2026 World Cup expected to generate more than $6 billion revenue

World Cup

2026 FIFA World Cup is projected to surpass $6 billion in combined media rights and sponsorship revenue, according to estimates from Ampere Analysis.

The tournament, hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will feature 48 national teams for the first time in history, creating additional commercial opportunities through an expanded match schedule.

Broadcasting rights alone are expected to generate at least $3.8 billion, representing a 22% increase compared to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The United States market is driving much of that growth, with the value of media contracts in the country rising by 94% compared to the previous edition.

Alongside traditional broadcasters, streaming platforms are also increasing investments. DAZN will broadcast the tournament in Japan, Italy and Spain.

Sponsorship revenue is projected to reach $2.4 billion. New commercial partners include DoorDash, Bank of America and ADI Predict Street.

Traditional sponsors such as Adidas, The Coca-Cola Company and Visa remain part of the tournament’s global partner portfolio.

Brands from beverage, food and travel sectors continue to dominate sponsorship activity, including Qatar Airways, Budweiser, Marriott International and American Airlines.

According to Ampere Analysis, the tournament’s expansion and the United States’ role as host nation are transforming the World Cup into an even larger global commercial platform.
