Kylian Mbappé is continuing to build a powerful business portfolio beyond football, investing “several million euros†in French health insurtech company Alan, which is currently valued at €5 billion.
The Real Madrid CF forward joined a €100 million funding round led by Index Ventures. The round also attracted high-profile investors, including Antoine Griezmann, Tobias Lütke, and Mike Katchen.
Founded in France, Alan expanded into Spain in 2020 following a €50 million funding round and now operates in Belgium and Canada. The company is targeting €1 billion in revenue by 2026, reinforcing its position as one of Europe’s leading digital health insurers.
As part of the deal, Mbappé has also become an ambassador for Alan. The investment was made through his personal investment vehicle, Coalition Capital, which has been actively diversifying into sports and tech ventures.
One of his most notable recent moves includes acquiring 80% of SM Caen, a Ligue 2 club, in a deal estimated between €15 million and €20 million.
Mbappé has also entered the sailing world, investing in SailGP, one of the most prestigious international sailing competitions. His involvement in the France SailGP Team further highlights his growing footprint in global sports investments.
Off the field, Mbappé has also been involved in a legal dispute with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain. While he withdrew a lawsuit related to alleged harassment and pressure to renew his contract, he continues to pursue a €55 million claim over unpaid wages and bonuses. The dispute dates back to his departure in July 2024 and remains unresolved.
