Athletic Club and Digi Extend Shirt Sponsorship Deal Through 2028

LaLiga continues to demonstrate strong fan engagement, with total stadium attendance exceeding one million spectators in March across LaLiga matches.

During the third month of the 2025–2026 season, matchdays 27 to 29 were played, drawing a combined attendance of over one million fans—equivalent to 82.5% of total stadium capacity. While slightly below the 83.9% recorded in March of the previous season, the comparison reflects one fewer matchday this year.

In absolute terms, March 2024–2025 saw 1.2 million attendees—233,248 more than this season. However, average attendance per matchday has improved, rising to 334,077 spectators compared to 308,870 last season.

The most attended match of the month was the clash between Athletic Club and FC Barcelona at San Mamés Stadium, which attracted 53,331 fans—94.9% of the venue’s capacity.

Several other fixtures also approached sell-out levels, including:

  • FC Barcelona vs Sevilla FC
  • FC Barcelona vs Rayo Vallecano
  • Real Madrid CF vs Atlético de Madrid

At the temporarily expanded Spotify Camp Nou, FC Barcelona continued to lead attendance figures. The match against Sevilla reached 90.2% capacity, while the game against Rayo Vallecano welcomed 56,812 fans (90.7%).

Meanwhile, the Madrid derby at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium drew 77,964 spectators, representing 92.8% of capacity.

Notably, for the first time this season, no match in March fell below 50% attendance. The lowest turnout was 53.1%, recorded during the fixture between Getafe CF and Real Betis, with 8,757 spectators at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

In terms of total drawing power, Real Madrid CF led the rankings with 149,012 attendees across two home matches, followed by Atlético de Madrid with nearly 120,000 fans.

Segunda División Sees Drop in Attendance

In LaLiga Hypermotion, average attendance reached 65.4% across four matchdays in March—down 18.9% compared to the same period last season, which included five matchdays and 674,558 spectators.

Three matches exceeded 90% capacity, led by Racing Club de Santander vs Córdoba CF, which nearly sold out El Sardinero Stadium at 98.2% (21,898 fans). Other high-attendance matches included Málaga CF vs SD Huesca (90.6%) and Racing vs Albacete Balompié (99.6%).

However, nine matches recorded attendance below 50%, including fixtures such as Cádiz CF vs Real Zaragoza (47.5%) and Real Sociedad B vs CD Castellón (39.8%), highlighting the disparity in fan engagement across the division.
