Bryson DeChambeau Expands Into Sports Tech With SportsBox AI Acquisition

Bryson DeChambeau Acquires SportsBox AI in Eight-Figure Deal

Professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau is leading an investor group that has acquired Sportsbox AI in an eight-figure deal, marking a significant move into the sports technology and AI space.

The acquisition highlights the growing intersection between elite sport and advanced analytics, particularly as athletes increasingly invest in technologies that can enhance both performance and accessibility.

AI-driven coaching platform

Founded in 2020, SportsBox AI specializes in computer vision technology that analyzes athlete movement using standard video input. The platform converts 2D footage into 3D models, enabling users to view and refine their technique from multiple angles.

The company’s technology has been used in golf training environments to help players make real-time adjustments, bridging the gap between amateur and professional-level coaching.

DeChambeau’s long-term involvement

DeChambeau has previously credited SportsBox AI’s tools as part of the performance improvements that contributed to his 2024 U.S. Open victory. He later became an investor in the company, alongside other backers such as Michelle Wie West and EP Golf Ventures.

His leadership in the acquisition signals a deeper strategic commitment to integrating technology into athletic development and coaching systems.

Launch of AI assistant and cloud integration

Alongside the acquisition, SportsBox AI is preparing to launch its Motion Intelligence (SAMI) AI Assistant within its app. The assistant will leverage agentic AI capabilities and benefit from technical support via Google Cloud, with which DeChambeau partnered in 2025.

The new feature aims to provide personalized, real-time coaching insights directly through mobile devices, making advanced training tools more widely accessible.
