Disney+ has renewed Welcome to Wrexham for an additional three seasons, extending the Emmy-winning documentary series through to 2029 and marking the first multi-season order in the show’s history.
The FX-produced series, which follows the rise of Wrexham AFC under Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, will now run to at least eight seasons following its debut in 2022.
Reynolds and Mac, who also serve as executive producers, said the expanded deal reflects both the production team’s work and the club’s continued ascent.
The new agreement comes as Wrexham continue their rapid rise through the English football pyramid, with the upcoming fifth season set to document their first Championship campaign in more than four decades, alongside FA Cup runs and the progression of the club’s women’s team.
While the club does not receive direct financial compensation from the series, Welcome to Wrexham has become a central pillar of its commercial growth, driving global exposure and helping attract sponsorships and brand partnerships.
Since the takeover in 2021, Wrexham have climbed from the National League to the Championship through three consecutive promotions, transforming into one of football’s most visible global storytelling properties.
