Aramco Launches Stadium Company for Al-Qadsiah’s New Venue

Saudi Aramco has formally launched its stadium management subsidiary, marking a key step in the development of the new Aramco Stadium — a flagship venue set to anchor the growth of sport and entertainment in Saudi Arabia.

The newly created entity, Aramco Stadium Company, will oversee operations of the 47,000-seat venue, which will serve as the home ground of Al-Qadsiah FC, a member of the Saudi Pro League.

Located in Al Khobar, the stadium is part of a broader 800,000-square-metre mixed-use development designed to attract both domestic and international visitors year-round.

Multi-event strategy

Beyond domestic football, the venue is positioned to host major international competitions, including the AFC Asian Cup 2027 and the FIFA World Cup 2034, reinforcing its role in Saudi Arabia’s long-term sports infrastructure strategy.

The stadium will also be used for large-scale entertainment events, aligning with the Kingdom’s broader push to diversify its economy through sport and tourism.

Board with global experience

Alongside the launch, Aramco confirmed the appointment of its board of directors and executive leadership.

Fahad Al Dhubaib has been named chairman, while Mohammed Al Thomairi will serve as vice chairman.

The board also includes:

  • Abdulrahman Alqudaib
  • Bader Alreziza
  • Nader Ashoor
  • Jefferson Slack
  • James Bisgrove

The inclusion of international sports executives highlights an effort to align the project with global best practices in venue management.

Operational leadership

Matthew Kittle has been appointed CEO of Aramco Stadium Company. He brings experience from SoFi Stadium and the adjacent Hollywood Park development, both considered benchmark projects in modern venue operations.

Context: a growing league

The launch comes amid rapid commercial growth for the Saudi Pro League, with revenues reportedly tripling over the past three years.

Backed by government entities including the Ministry of Sport and the Ministry of Investment, the league continues to expand its global footprint through infrastructure investment, international events, and high-profile appointments.

Outlook

The creation of Aramco Stadium Company reflects a broader shift in Saudi Arabia’s sports strategy — moving beyond team investment toward fully integrated venue and entertainment ecosystems.

With a high-capacity stadium, international event pipeline, and experienced leadership team, the project is positioned to become a central asset in the Kingdom’s evolving sports economy.
