Ticket prices for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final have reached unprecedented levels on the official resale platform operated by FIFA, with some listings reportedly approaching €3 million.
The final, set to take place at MetLife Stadium on July 19, has seen resale prices surge far beyond face value. According to reports, premium seats behind the goal have been listed at around $3 million, while standard resale tickets are still priced in the millions of dollars range.
FIFA applies a 30% total commission on secondary market transactions—split equally between buyer and seller fees—making it one of the most lucrative ticketing structures in global sport. Critics argue the system effectively monetizes scarcity at an extreme level, particularly for marquee matches like the World Cup final.
Unlike previous tournaments, FIFA has not imposed a cap on resale prices for the 2026 edition, citing the need to discourage unofficial third-party scalping platforms. However, this decision has effectively opened the door to a free-priced secondary market.
Even lower-tier seating has reached extraordinary levels, with some “accessible†or upper-deck tickets reportedly listed above €100,000. Entry-level resale prices for the final still exceed €9,000.
