PSG – Bayern sets season record for Canal+ Foot

The first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich delivered a massive audience for Canal+ Foot.

The match, played Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes and ending in a spectacular 5–4 scoreline, became the most-watched broadcast of the season on the channel, averaging 2.85 million viewers throughout the evening.

At its peak, during the final moments when the scoreboard read 5–4, viewership climbed to 3.22 million viewers.

These figures were enough to make Canal+ Foot the most-watched channel in France during prime time, surpassing all other broadcasters, including free-to-air channels.

The strong ratings underline the French audience’s appetite for major European nights involving PSG and suggest another potentially huge audience for the second leg, scheduled for May 6 at the Allianz Arena in Munich, which will also be broadcast on Canal+.

Given the intensity and quality of the first leg, the return match could set another viewing record.
