Stephen Curry generated $1.7 million through an auction of more than 70 game-worn sneakers, with all proceeds going to his Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation.
The auction, conducted by Sotheby’s between April 13–28, attracted over 400 bidders, with every pair sold. The initiative came during Curry’s “sneaker free agency” period after parting ways with Under Armour in late 2025.
Among the standout sales, Curry’s 2010 Nike Hyperdunk Player Edition—worn on Christmas Day—fetched $121,600. Other notable pairs included the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” at $76,800 and several models that sold for $70,400 each.
Throughout the season, Curry wore a variety of shoes from different brands, often using them to pay tribute to basketball legends. One example was his use of Converse Weapon sneakers in Boston, honoring Larry Bird.
The foundation supports children in Oakland through programs focused on nutrition, literacy and physical activity. Curry described the auction as a project that evolved from storytelling through sneakers into a global philanthropic success.
