Canal+ has significantly strengthened its position in European football broadcasting by securing expanded UEFA Men’s Club Competition rights across several key markets for the 2027/28 to 2030/31 cycle.
The agreement covers multiple territories with a mix of exclusive and co-exclusive deals. In Poland, Canal+ retains 100% exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League. In Belgium, the broadcaster also secures full exclusive rights to all major UEFA club competitions, including the Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League.
In Austria, Canal+ has obtained exclusive rights to the Europa League and Conference League, further expanding its portfolio in Central Europe. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, the company has renewed co-exclusive rights for selected Champions League and Europa League matches in French-language coverage.
These new agreements build on Canal+’s earlier extension of its UEFA rights in France, which already runs through 2031. Together, they consolidate the broadcaster’s position as one of the dominant rights holders of European club football.
Canal+ CEO Maxime Saada described the deal as a major milestone, stating that the company now holds UEFA rights in more than 50 countries and continues to expand its global sports broadcasting footprint.
With these acquisitions, Canal+ will provide extensive coverage of UEFA competitions across its channels and digital platforms, reinforcing its strategy of premium, exclusive sports content across Europe.
