FC Barcelona will once again turn its jersey into a cultural platform. For the el clasico clash against Real Madrid on May 10, Spotify will replace its logo with the name of Olivia Rodrigo.
The move is part of the club’s hybrid strategy blending football and music. As part of its ongoing partnership with Spotify, FC Barcelona regularly transforms its shirt into a promotional platform for global artists. Previous activations have featured names such as Drake, Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, Coldplay and Travis Scott.
A limited edition priced at 2,999 Euros
The activation extends beyond the men’s match. The special jersey will also be worn by the women’s team in a Liga F fixture a few days earlier. In parallel, Spotify is planning a global campaign, including a private concert in Barcelona and exclusive content releases.
With more than 50 million monthly listeners, Olivia Rodrigo represents a young, international audience aligned with the club’s positioning. Limited-edition versions of the jersey will also be sold, reinforcing scarcity and desirability dynamics. However, they come with a premium price tag of €2,999, with only a handful of units reportedly still available via the club’s online store.
a shirt as a global marketing platform
More than just sportswear, the FC Barcelona jersey continues to evolve into a global marketing platform at the intersection of sport, music and entertainment.
