David Beckham has reportedly become the first British athlete in history to build a fortune exceeding €1 billion, according to new figures published by The Times.

The former England captain reached the milestone alongside his wife, Victoria Beckham, through a combination of football investments, real estate ventures and expanding business interests across fashion, nutrition and lifestyle sectors.

According to The Times Rich List, the Beckhams’ estimated wealth has more than doubled in the past year, rising from approximately €574 million in 2025 to over €1 billion in 2026.

Beckham’s financial rise has been heavily linked to his role as co-owner of Inter Miami CF, the Major League Soccer franchise he co-founded with an investment group in 2018. His stake in the club is now estimated to be worth around €350 million, driven by the club’s rapid commercial growth and high-profile signings including Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul.

The club has also invested significantly in infrastructure projects, most notably the Miami Freedom Park development, which includes a 26,700-seat stadium alongside planned retail, restaurant and office spaces.

Beyond football, the Beckham family has built a substantial real estate portfolio in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Their properties reportedly include a luxury waterfront mansion in Miami valued at nearly €70 million, a long-standing residence in London’s Holland Park and a countryside estate in the Cotswolds worth around €23 million.

The Beckhams have also diversified into fashion, wellness and food businesses. Victoria Beckham continues to expand her namesake fashion and beauty brand, while David Beckham launched the nutritional supplement brand “IM8” in 2024, alongside “Beeup”, a honey-based healthy snack line for children sourced from the family’s Cotswolds estate.

Beckham’s transition from elite footballer to global entrepreneur is increasingly being viewed as a blueprint for modern athletes seeking long-term commercial success after retirement.
