Liverpool, Inter Milan and Union SG drive new commercial wave

As the 2025–26 European football season draws to a close, several clubs are reinforcing their commercial strategies through key partnership renewals. Liverpool, Inter Milan, and Union Saint-Gilloise (USG) have all confirmed updated agreements with major brands, highlighting the continued expansion of football’s commercial ecosystem.

Liverpool Expand Digital Strategy with Wasabi

Premier League side Liverpool have extended their long-standing partnership with Wasabi Technologies, continuing a collaboration that began in 2022.

Under the renewed multi-year deal, Wasabi will remain Liverpool’s cloud storage and data infrastructure partner, supporting the club’s global content strategy and digital operations.

The partnership is designed to enhance content production efficiency and deliver more personalised experiences to the club’s global fanbase. Liverpool see the agreement as a key component in their broader digital transformation strategy, aimed at scaling content delivery and strengthening international engagement.

Inter Milan Continue Socios.com Fan Engagement Model

Serie A champions Inter Milan have renewed their partnership with blockchain-based fan engagement platform Socios.com, further expanding their digital fan interaction ecosystem.

First launched in 2021, the SINTER fan token allows supporters to participate in club-related polls, access exclusive experiences, and engage more directly with matchday activities.

Chiliz, the company behind Socios.com, continues to position Inter as one of its flagship global partners, reinforcing the platform’s presence in the Italian and international football markets.

Inter also maintain major commercial relationships with global brands such as Nike (kit supplier) and Betsson (front-of-shirt sponsor through 2027–28), strengthening their diversified sponsorship portfolio.

Union Saint-Gilloise Upgrade Orange Partnership

Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise (USG) have upgraded their long-term agreement with telecommunications company Orange, making it the club’s primary shirt sponsor starting from the 2026–27 season.

The Orange logo will feature on the front of the men’s team shirts across domestic league fixtures and European competitions, marking a significant step in the club’s commercial development.

USG CEO Philippe Bormans described the renewed partnership as an important milestone in the club’s long-term growth strategy.

Orange also continues to expand its footprint in Belgian football, holding broadcasting rights within the Pro League through a recent deal with DAZN.

European Football’s Commercial Momentum Continues

These renewed partnerships underline a broader trend across European football: clubs are increasingly prioritising digital infrastructure, fan engagement platforms, and global brand collaborations alongside on-pitch performance.

As the new season approaches, commercial strategy continues to play a central role in shaping the competitive and financial landscape of elite football.
