DAZN strengthens Spanish football offering with Eredivisie rights

DAZN has expanded its football portfolio in Spain by acquiring the domestic media rights to the Eredivisie, further strengthening its position as one of the country’s leading football streaming platforms.

Under the agreement, DAZN will broadcast all 306 Eredivisie matches during the season, including every fixture involving the league’s traditional “Big Three” clubs—Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, and Feyenoord.

The package also includes the KNVB Cup, the Dutch Super Cup, and all 132 matches from the Women’s Eredivisie, providing Spanish audiences with comprehensive coverage of Dutch football.

Rights secured through IMG partnership

The international media rights for the Eredivisie are managed by IMG under a deal that runs through the 2029/30 season. IMG has handled the league’s international broadcasting rights for more than two decades.

DAZN’s coverage began with the 2026 Dutch Super Cup on August 2, where AZ Alkmaar defeated PSV Eindhoven 4-0. The Eredivisie season officially kicks off on August 7, with newly promoted SC Cambuur facing Excelsior Rotterdam.

Building a comprehensive football portfolio

The addition of the Eredivisie complements DAZN’s already extensive football rights portfolio in Spain, which includes LaLiga, LaLiga Hypermotion, Liga F, the Primera Federación, and Spain national team matches.

Earlier this year, DAZN also secured a multi-year agreement to broadcast Ligue 1 in Spain, making it the only platform in the country to hold rights to all of Europe’s “Big Five” domestic leagues: the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1.

With the five major European leagues already in its portfolio, DAZN is now broadening its football offering by adding leading competitions from outside the traditional “Big Five,” further enhancing its value proposition for Spanish football fans.
