Al Ahly has signed two major commercial agreements with Vodafone, giving the telecommunications giant naming rights to the club’s new stadium and the main sponsorship position on its first-team shirt.
The stadium naming-rights agreement was described by Al Ahly as the largest sports investment deal in the Middle East, although the club did not disclose the financial terms.
Under a separate four-year agreement with Al Ahly Football Company, Vodafone will become the club’s main shirt sponsor. Al Ahly said the deal is worth more than its previous shirt sponsorship agreement, without revealing the value.
The two agreements represent one of the most significant commercial partnerships in Al Ahly’s history, linking Vodafone’s brand presence across the club’s current football operations with the development of its new stadium.
Vodafone takes naming rights to new Al Ahly stadium
The naming-rights deal gives Vodafone a prominent position within Al Ahly’s long-awaited new stadium project, which is being developed as a major piece of long-term infrastructure for the Cairo-based club.
The partnership was officially presented during a ceremony at the Giza Pyramids attended by Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib, club officials, government representatives and executives involved in the stadium project.
Red Castle Company, which is responsible for financing and constructing the stadium, was also represented at the event.
According to Al Ahly, commercial revenues generated through the partnership will contribute to the development of the new stadium while strengthening the club’s long-term revenue base.
Vodafone returns to Al Ahly’s shirt
Alongside the stadium agreement, Vodafone has secured one of Al Ahly’s most valuable commercial assets by becoming the club’s main shirt sponsor for the next four years.
The agreement covers the club’s first-team shirt and is expected to provide Vodafone with significant visibility across Al Ahly’s domestic and international football activities.
The combination of stadium naming rights and front-of-shirt sponsorship creates a broad commercial platform for Vodafone, connecting the company with both Al Ahly’s sporting operations and its most important infrastructure project.
For Al Ahly, the partnership provides an opportunity to increase commercial revenues while supporting the financing and development of its new stadium.
