Real Madrid has entered the artificial intelligence and data centre market by signing Iren as its first sponsor from the sector. The commercial agreement brings together the LaLiga club and the Australian company, which has evolved from cryptocurrency mining into a provider of AI cloud services.
The financial terms and duration of the agreement have not been disclosed.
In its announcement, Real Madrid described the partnership as a collaboration between “two organisations committed to community, innovation and technological progress”. Neither party has released further details about the commercial scope of the deal.
Iren’s addition reflects Real Madrid’s broader strategy of strengthening its portfolio of technology partners. The club already works with several companies in the sector, including HP, Adobe, Cisco and Softtek.
HP has a prominent presence on the sleeve of Real Madrid’s playing shirt, while Adobe, Cisco and Softtek are among the club’s existing technology-related commercial partners.
For Iren, the agreement provides a platform to increase its visibility through one of the world’s most recognisable football brands as it develops its position in AI cloud infrastructure. For Real Madrid, the partnership expands its commercial presence in a technology sector increasingly attracting investment and interest from major sports organisations.
