Silverstone Circuit, the legendary home of British motorsport, has officially shifted into high gear with a permanent 5G connectivity upgrade. In partnership with Boldyn Networks, the venue has moved away from temporary seasonal stopgaps to a year-round, high-capacity mobile platform designed to support millions of annual visitors.
The upgrade, announced on February 18, 2026, ensures that fans, racing teams, and broadcasters remain seamlessly connected during high-traffic events like the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, which attracted over 164,000 spectators on race day in 2025.
Technical Infrastructure and Venue Reach
The new network utilizes a state-of-the-art hybrid active Distributed Antenna System (DAS), a neutral-host solution that supports all major UK mobile network operators (EE, Vodafone, Three, and Virgin Media O2).

- Capacity: Featuring 57 high-capacity sectors divided into 87 DAS zones, engineered to handle massive surges in data sharing and streaming.

- The Wing conference and exhibition centre.

Enhancing the “Fan Experience”
The primary goal of the upgrade is to eliminate signal drop-outs during peak attendance, allowing fans to upload high-definition content, access real-time race data, and use mobile ticketing without friction.
