FFBB Teams Up with Rematch to Digitize Amateur Basketball

The French Basketball Federation (FFBB) has officially renewed and expanded its partnership with Rematch, a move designed to accelerate the digital transformation of amateur basketball across France.

In a major push to modernize grassroots basketball, the FFBB and Rematch have unveiled a tech-driven integration that will bring professional-level media features to the thousands of amateur clubs registered under the federation.

How It Works: “One-Tap” Highlight Production

The core of the partnership is Rematch’s proprietary technology, which eliminates the need for full-game filming or tedious post-production editing. Instead, the platform enables:

  • Real-Time Capturing: Users—whether they are coaches, parents, or volunteers—simply keep their phone’s camera interface open and “tap” after a big play happens. The app’s AI-powered auto-rewind feature then saves the action that just occurred (e.g., a buzzer-beater or a steal).
  • Automated Integration: Captured clips are automatically pushed to the official FFBB online match sheets and competition pages. This creates a permanent, digital archive for every amateur game in the system.
  • Streamlined Sharing: Clubs can generate match summaries in seconds and share them directly to their social media channels, significantly boosting their online visibility and ability to attract local sponsors.

A Win for Grassroots Engagement

The FFBB has confirmed it will actively monitor and amplify the best user-generated content, reposting top highlights on its national platforms. This serves two strategic goals:

  1. Player Engagement: Providing amateur athletes with high-quality highlight reels similar to those seen in professional leagues.
  2. Commercial Value: By increasing the visibility of local amateur games, clubs can offer their local sponsors tangible digital exposure, providing them with a more attractive “commercial product” to sell.

Building on a Success Story

The relationship between the FFBB and Rematch is long-standing, with the two organizations having first partnered in 2019. This 2026 expansion marks a transition toward a fully “connected” grassroots ecosystem.

“Our goal is to ensure that every participant, from the smallest youth team to the top amateur senior leagues, feels the excitement of being part of the wider French basketball family,” said a federation representative. For the FFBB, which oversees over 4,000 affiliated clubs, this partnership is a critical step in maintaining basketball’s position as France’s most popular indoor sport.
