The NBA announced on March 17, 2026, a partnership with the Coca-Cola Company, bringing Sprite back as the league’s official global soft drink. The deal revives a relationship that began in 1986 and lasted nearly three decades, once recognized as one of the NBA’s most iconic collaborations. Sprite previously served as the title sponsor of the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest from 2003 to 2016.
“Sprite has always celebrated individuality and self-expression, values that deeply resonate with basketball fans worldwide. We’re excited to welcome Sprite back to the NBA family and look forward to exploring new ways for fans to experience the game,†said Kerry Tatlock, NBA Executive Vice President of Global Marketing Partnerships and Media.
“Basketball is central to Sprite’s DNA. Reuniting with the NBA is about co-creating what’s next, experimenting with fan experiences, exploring emerging formats, and connecting with the next generation where they are. Basketball isn’t just a game; it’s a global cultural engine, and Sprite, together with the NBA, will help fuel the moments and memories that drive it,†added Manolo Arroyo, Coca-Cola Company Executive Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer.
Under the agreement, whose duration and financial terms were not disclosed, Sprite will activate on the NBA’s biggest global stages, including marquee league moments and international events such as the NBA Global Games. Fans will be able to participate in immersive experiences, exclusive promotions, and view custom content series across NBA platforms.
The partnership will also include limited-edition Sprite cans featuring select NBA team branding in participating markets. Integrated global marketing campaigns, retail programs, and in-person fan experiences aim to solidify the association between the lemon-lime beverage and the NBA.
This new deal adds to Sprite’s existing partnerships with 17 NBA teams. Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves guard and current All-Star Game MVP, has also been named a brand ambassador.
