As preparations intensify for the FIFA World Cup 2026, U.S. Soccer is rolling out a grassroots initiative aimed at strengthening youth participation and building a long-term football ecosystem.
The program, titled “Soccer at Schools,†is being developed in partnership with the Soccer Forward Foundation and Bank of America. It forms part of the broader legacy strategy tied to the 2026 World Cup, with ambitions extending through 2030.
The initiative focuses on integrating football into school systems by providing equipment, coaching education, and teaching resources for educators and local stakeholders. It aims to tackle structural challenges such as limited infrastructure and a shortage of volunteers, while also expanding the player base and nurturing future fans.
As an official sponsor of the 2026 World Cup, Bank of America will activate the program through its “Sports with Us†platform, organizing on-the-ground activities across multiple cities. High-profile ambassadors, including David Beckham and Sydney Leroux, are expected to support the initiative and boost its visibility at the community level.
The project reflects a growing trend in global football: leveraging major tournaments not only for commercial gains but also to create lasting grassroots impact and sustainable participation growth.
