CBS to Broadcast 20 WNBA Games in 2026

EverPass and Apple TV.

The WNBA has secured a major new media deal with CBS Sports, bringing up to 20 regular-season games to broadcast and streaming platforms in 2026. This marks the most WNBA games ever aired on free TV by the network.

Unlike last year, when games were split between CBS and CBS Sports Network, the new agreement focuses solely on broadcast and streaming, eliminating cable-only coverage. The move reflects a broader shift in league strategy, similar to the NBA’s 11-year, $77 billion media deal signed in 2024, which included $2.2 billion for the WNBA.

CBS’s coverage is expected to expand the league’s audience. Last year, CBS averaged 1.28 million viewers for its nine games, with the Indiana Fever vs. New York Liberty matchup drawing 2.2 million viewers. Nielsen ratings for CBS Sports Network are not included in this data.

The partnership aims to increase visibility for the league, offering fans more accessible coverage while aligning with modern viewing trends across broadcast and streaming platforms.
