Primera Federación expands media reach with 4 million potential audience

Primera Federación match broadcast with growing audience reach

Primera Federación is rapidly increasing its media presence, with potential audience figures rising from 15,000 viewers to more than 4 million, according to the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The growth is driven by a new audiovisual rights model developed in partnership with LaLiga, significantly expanding broadcast distribution.

This season, the competition is available through 10 broadcasters, including seven regional networks, along with a weekly free-to-air match on Teledeporte.

The league has also recorded strong growth across digital platforms, with its social media following increasing by 70% to reach 250,000 followers.

Recently, RFEF president Rafael Louzán met with clubs from the division to discuss key topics such as broadcasting rights, infrastructure improvements and match scheduling, aiming to strengthen the competition’s overall development.

The strategy reflects a broader effort to boost visibility, commercial value and fan engagement for Spain’s third-tier football competition.
