Adidas dominates quarterfinals, but Nike remains the World Cup’s leading scoring brand

Adidas dominated the goal-scoring charts in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals, but Nike retained its overall lead in the tournament’s “brand golden boot” race after the completion of the last-eight stage.

Across the four quarterfinal matches, 12 goals were scored. Players wearing Adidas boots accounted for nine of those goals, while Nike-sponsored athletes scored the remaining three.

The German brand featured on every goal scored in Spain’s victory over Belgium and England’s win against Norway, while Adidas-booted players also found the net for Argentina in its quarterfinal victory over Switzerland.

Nike’s goals came through Kylian Mbappé (France), Lautaro Martínez (Argentina) and Dan Ndoye (Switzerland).

Thanks to its dominant quarterfinal showing, Adidas increased its tournament total to 110 goals scored by players wearing its boots. However, Nike continues to lead the overall standings with 139 goals, maintaining a comfortable advantage with only four matches remaining in the tournament.

National team kit suppliers

The battle between official kit suppliers was considerably closer.

Adidas-sponsored national teams — Argentina, Belgium and Spain — combined for six goals during the quarterfinals, while Nike-sponsored nations — France, Norway and England — scored five.

Overall, Nike still leads the tournament’s kit supplier rankings, with its national teams producing 94 goals, compared to 90 for Adidas-sponsored countries.

Puma, represented by Switzerland, added one goal to reach 70 goals overall and remains third in the standings.

With Argentina, Spain, France and England advancing to the semifinals, only Adidas and Nike will be represented among the four remaining national teams, setting up a direct commercial showdown between the world’s two biggest football equipment brands on the sport’s biggest stage.
