Adidas has launched Flamengo’s new white kit for the 2026 season, in a release that carries strong symbolic weight and redefines the club’s traditional away shirt.
The Brazilian giants confirmed that the white strip will no longer be labeled as an “away kit†but will instead be officially designated as a “white home kit,†reflecting its growing cultural and emotional significance within the club’s identity.
The campaign behind the launch highlights Flamengo’s record attendance figures over the past decade, emphasizing the club’s claim that it “never truly plays away,†whether at the Maracanã or across Brazil.
White holds historic importance for Flamengo, most notably as the color worn during their 1981 Intercontinental Cup triumph over Liverpool in Japan—one of the most iconic moments in club history. Adidas and Flamengo say the new release aims to reconnect with that legacy and elevate the white kit as a core institutional symbol rather than a secondary option.
From a design perspective, the shirt reintroduces red and black chest stripes, a feature last seen in 2019 and long requested by supporters. Adidas’ signature three stripes appear on the shoulders in a bolder red treatment.
The match version of the shirt also features lenticular detailing on the club crest and Adidas logo, creating shifting visual effects depending on movement.
The new Flamengo white kit is now available through Adidas Brazil’s online store, official club channels, and retail outlets starting April 10, 2026.
