AS Roma has appointed John Galantic as its new chief executive officer, bringing in an executive with an extensive background in the luxury and fashion industries as the Serie A club prepares for its return to the UEFA Champions League.
Galantic, an American-Swiss executive of Italian heritage, joins the Friedkin family-owned club after stepping down as CEO of Tod’s Group, a role he held for the past two years.
His résumé also includes serving on the boards of Ferrari and AS Roma during the ownership of former president James Pallotta, giving him previous experience with the club’s governance.
Before joining Tod’s, Galantic spent 16 years leading Chanel’s U.S. operations and also held senior executive positions at global consumer brands including Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Coty.
In a statement, AS Roma said Galantic has led international companies at the highest level and possesses deep knowledge of both the sports industry and the Italian economy. The club also highlighted that he is a lifelong Roma supporter who understands the city, its fans and the significance of the club.
The appointment comes as Roma continues to strengthen its executive leadership while seeking to improve its financial performance following its return to Europe’s top club competition.
