FC Barcelona is set to release a 2026–27 away kit that pays tribute to Kobe Bryant, as part of its ongoing collaboration with Nike and the Mamba line.
The design is expected to carry one of Bryant’s most recognizable messages — “Leave the game better than you found it†— placed on the inner collar, extending the late player’s philosophy beyond basketball into football.
This kit represents the second Barcelona collection under Nike’s Mamba series, following the initial launch during the 2025–26 season. It signals a continuation of the brand’s effort to translate Bryant’s legacy into other sports categories, particularly football.
Visually, the shirt is built around a gradient concept, transitioning from black at the top into a deep purple tone known as “Field Purple,†a direct reference to the colors associated with the Los Angeles Lakers, where Bryant spent his entire career. Gold-toned, iridescent logos are also expected to feature prominently, reflecting the iconic gold linked to Bryant’s No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys.
The kit will reportedly use a modern Nike collar template seen across several 2026 national team designs, while matching purple shorts and socks complete the look, extending the gradient theme across the full kit.
Bryant, who died in 2020, remains a central figure within Nike’s Mamba brand, which continues to evolve across multiple sports. The collaboration with Barcelona stands out as one of its most visible entries into global football.
The kit has not yet been officially unveiled. However, early details and leaks suggest it could become one of the most discussed designs of the 2026–27 season, driven as much by its narrative as its aesthetic.
