Just before their 3-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano in La Liga, some Barcelona players appeared on the Camp Nou pitch wearing the iconic 2005/06 kit with Ronaldinho’s number 10. That season, the Brazilian superstar was Ballon d’Or holder, and Barça won their second Champions League.
The club decided to re-release the vintage jerseys both online and in official stores, in two versions: the full kit with Ronaldinho’s name and number, and a “neutral” version without them. Fans and collectors quickly snapped them up, with both versions selling out in just a few hours, despite prices of €129.99 for the full kit and €99.99 for the neutral one.
The attention to detail—replicating the original design, logos, and font, and keeping the jersey free of a main sponsor—helped drive the success. Barcelona’s marketing department has already placed a new order to meet ongoing demand.
