German champions FC Bayern Munich and energy solutions leader Viessmann have officially renewed their partnership ahead of schedule. As the club’s Official Climate Partner, Viessmann will play an even larger role in helping the 33-time Bundesliga champions achieve their ambitious environmental and carbon-reduction goals.
Green Technology at the Allianz Arena The collaboration is already visible at the heart of the club. Viessmann has currently installed 19 advanced heat pump systems on the roof of the Allianz Arena. With the new agreement, the 75,000-seat stadium will see further technological upgrades aimed at optimizing energy efficiency and reducing the facility’s carbon footprint.
A Growing Global Alliance The relationship began in 2018, originally focused on the Chinese market. Since then, it has evolved into a global strategic partnership. Rouven Kasper, Bayern’s Board Member for Marketing and Sales, emphasized the synergy between the two brands:
“We have achieved a great deal together in the field of efficient and innovative climate solutions. For FC Bayern, economic decisions go hand-in-hand with social and environmental awareness.”
Strategic Sustainability The extension underscores a trend among elite European clubs to integrate high-tech industrial partners into their stadium infrastructure. While Bayern focuses on energy solutions with Viessmann, other clubs are maximizing different aspects of their venues; for example, Real Madrid currently operates 261 private boxes to drive premium revenue. Bayern’s move, however, reinforces their commitment to making the Allianz Arena one of the most technologically sustainable sports venues in the world.
