Chelsea FC has announced a multi-year partnership with legal artificial intelligence company Legora, expanding its commercial portfolio with a technology-focused collaboration that spans both branding and internal operations.
Sleeve branding across all teams
Under the agreement, the Legora logo will appear on the training kit sleeves of Chelsea’s men’s, women’s and academy teams. The deal gives the AI company visibility across all levels of the club’s sporting structure.
Beyond sponsorship exposure, the partnership goes deeper than traditional commercial agreements.
Ai integrated into Chelsea’s legal operations
Legora’s “agentic AI operating system” is also being integrated directly into Chelsea’s internal legal and contract management workflows. The system supports legal professionals with research, document review and contract drafting.
Founded in 2023, Legora claims its platform is already used by more than 100,000 legal professionals across 50 markets. Chelsea has reportedly already implemented the technology within its in-house legal department to streamline operations.
Club and company leadership comments
Chelsea General Counsel Rob Hamblin highlighted the alignment between the partnership and the club’s performance-driven culture, emphasizing preparation and continuous improvement across all teams.
Legora CEO and co-founder Max Junestrand said the collaboration reflects the idea that elite performance is built long before competition begins, drawing parallels between elite sport and high-level professional services.
Football’s growing ai-commercial convergence
The deal reflects a broader trend in elite football, where clubs are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence not only into sporting performance analysis but also into back-office functions such as legal, scouting, and contract management.
Conclusion
The agreement between Chelsea FC and Legora highlights how modern football partnerships are evolving beyond traditional shirt sponsorships. Instead, clubs are increasingly embedding commercial partners directly into their internal infrastructure, turning sponsorship deals into functional business tools as well as branding opportunities.
