Browns Stadium Project Hits $2.6bn as Haslam Group Boosts Private Funding

The cost of delivering Huntington Bank Field, the future home of the Cleveland Browns in Brook Park, has officially risen to $2.6 billion. In a strategic move to ensure a “world-class fan experience,” the Haslam Sports Group (HSG) has significantly increased its private contribution to $1.755 billion, now covering 67.5% of the stadium’s total cost.

This updated financial plan arrives as mass excavation work begins at the site, approximately 15 miles from downtown Cleveland. The project, designed by HKS, features a 67,500-seat “Super Theater” enclosed stadium capable of hosting year-round global events like NCAA Final Fours and international concerts. While the Haslam family has stepped up its investment, about $845 million in public funding from the State of Ohio and the City of Brook Park remains part of the long-term proposal, despite some current legal freezes on state contributions.

An official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for April 30, 2026, with AECOM Hunt and Turner Construction leading the build of Ohio’s first major enclosed sports venue.
