Cristiano Ronaldo continues to build an impressive business portfolio alongside his football career, with two companies linked to the Portuguese star generating combined annual revenues of close to $100 million.
One of Ronaldo’s most significant business ventures is Pestana CR7 Hotels, a hotel chain developed in partnership with Portugal’s Pestana Group. The business is estimated to generate approximately $54.1 million in annual revenue. With Ronaldo holding a 50% stake in the joint venture, more than $27 million of that figure could theoretically be attributed to his share.
The Portuguese footballer is also a co-founder of Insparya, a network of hair transplant clinics established in 2019 alongside Paulo Ramos. The company reportedly generates around $40 million in annual revenue, with Ronaldo’s estimated 50% stake representing approximately $20 million.
Together, the two businesses generate roughly $94 million in annual revenue, while Ronaldo’s theoretical share based on his ownership stakes amounts to around $47 million.
Greg Norman and LeBron James lead the rankings
According to a study published by Arka, however, Ronaldo is not at the top of the list when it comes to the most lucrative businesses associated with professional athletes.
Greg Norman and LeBron James reportedly lead the rankings, with their respective companies each generating approximately $300 million in annual revenue.
The research also highlights the growing entrepreneurial influence of NBA players, who account for half of the top 10 positions in the ranking, underlining the significant role American athletes play in building major businesses beyond their sporting careers.
