Croatia ends 26-year Nike partnership to join adidas

The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has officially named adidas as its new technical partner, ending a 26-year partnership with Nike that began in 2000.

The agreement, which takes effect immediately, covers Croatia’s men’s and women’s national teams as well as all youth national teams. The first adidas match kits are scheduled to be unveiled between late August and early September, ahead of Croatia’s UEFA Nations League campaign.

New World Cup cycle drives supplier changes

The partnership reflects the latest shift in the international football kit market ahead of the next FIFA World Cup cycle.

Croatia joins a growing list of European national teams switching to adidas, with Turkey and Poland also leaving Nike, while the Czech Republic will end its partnership with Puma.

At the same time, adidas will lose one of its longest-standing national team relationships after Germany confirmed it will move to Nike from 2027, ending a partnership spanning more than 70 years.

Beyond match kits

In addition to match uniforms, the collaboration will include training apparel, lifestyle collections and fan merchandise, supported by a dedicated marketing campaign designed to celebrate Croatian football culture.

Croatian Football Federation President Marijan Kustić described the agreement as “a pivotal moment for Croatian football,” highlighting adidas’ football heritage and its commitment to supporting the sport at every level.

Meanwhile, adidas Football General Manager Sam Handy said Croatia has established itself as one of world football’s most respected national teams, adding that the brand looks forward to supporting the federation throughout the next chapter of its development.

The deal further strengthens adidas’ national team portfolio ahead of the 2026-2030 international football cycle, reinforcing the company’s strategy of expanding its presence among Europe’s leading football federations.
