DAZN has signed a local media rights agreement with the Minnesota Timberwolves, becoming the NBA franchise’s exclusive regional streaming partner across its home broadcast territory in the United States.
As part of the deal, DAZN will launch a team-branded subscription service this summer, allowing fans to stream live Timberwolves games while also accessing exclusive team content.
15 Games Available Free
The new service will offer coverage throughout the Timberwolves’ entire home broadcast territory, including Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, with partial coverage extending into Kansas and Wisconsin.
To broaden access, 15 Timberwolves games will be available free of charge during the 2026-27 NBA season.
Production of all local game broadcasts, including pregame and postgame programming, will be handled by the NBA.
Expanding the Fan Experience
Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx CEO Matthew Caldwell said the partnership reflects the organization’s commitment to improving the fan experience.
“Our commitment to the best possible fan experience is what drives everything we do,” Caldwell said. “With DAZN, we’re bringing Timberwolves basketball directly to fans through a modern streaming experience that expands our reach with 15 free games.”
DAZN Strengthens U.S. Sports Portfolio
DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev described the Timberwolves as one of the NBA’s most exciting young teams and said the agreement represents another step in expanding the company’s presence in the U.S. sports market.

Digital Distribution Continues to Grow
The agreement highlights the NBA’s ongoing shift toward direct-to-consumer digital distribution, as teams increasingly move away from traditional regional sports networks in favor of streaming platforms that offer broader accessibility and greater flexibility for fans.
The Timberwolves finished the 2025-26 NBA regular season with a 49-33 record, placing sixth in the Western Conference before losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the Conference Semifinals. The team’s core players include Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, and LaMelo Ball.
