Decathlon renews Ligue 1 ball and technical deal through 2032

Decathlon has extended its partnership with Ligue de Football Professionnel, remaining the official ball supplier and technical partner of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 through 2032.

The renewal marks a second cycle for the French retailer, which has supplied match balls via its Kipsta brand since the 2022–23 season. Under the new agreement, Decathlon will also upgrade its commercial presence, becoming a major sponsor of the league with increased visibility and activation rights.

The deal strengthens the positioning of Kipsta as a high-performance football brand, following its broader push into elite competitions, and reflects Decathlon’s strategy to bridge grassroots accessibility with top-tier professional exposure.

For the LFP, the agreement ensures continuity in a key technical category while reinforcing partnerships with domestic brands, alongside existing headline sponsors such as McDonald’s (Ligue 1 title partner) and BKT (Ligue 2 naming rights holder).

The extension highlights a growing trend in European football: leagues aligning more closely with vertically integrated sports retailers that combine product development, distribution, and sponsorship under a single ecosystem.
