Disney+ is set to become the exclusive broadcaster of UEFA’s major club competitions in Belgium for the 2027–2031 cycle, according to media reports.
The deal covers the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League across the country. However, under Belgian law, matches involving Belgian clubs must still be shown on free-to-air television, meaning Disney+ will need to partner with a terrestrial broadcaster for those games.
Currently, UEFA club competitions in Belgium are split between free-to-air channels (VTM, RTL, VRT, RTBF) and pay-TV operators such as Telenet, Proximus, and BeTV. The new agreement would mark a significant shift toward streaming dominance in the market.
Disney+ already holds the rights to the UEFA Women’s Champions League across Europe, a deal running until 2030, signaling its growing investment in football broadcasting.
UEFA’s rights are being distributed by Relevent Sports, which has overseen new tender processes across multiple international markets following the end of its long-standing partnership with Team Marketing.
The agreement highlights the continued expansion of streaming platforms into top-tier European football broadcasting rights.
