FIA records strongest financial performance of the last decade with €6.7m profit in 2025

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has reported its strongest financial results in over a decade, closing the 2025 fiscal year with a €6.7 million profit, marking a 43% increase compared to the previous year.

The governing body of global motorsport generated €191.7 million in revenue, representing a 75% rise since 2021, while operating cash flow climbed to €53.7 million, effectively eliminating its financial debt.

According to FIA statements, the organization ended the year with a “solid financial position,” with cash and equivalents accounting for 73% of its balance sheet and equity standing at 49%. The federation emphasized that the improved financial health will allow continued investment in championships, member clubs, personnel, and strategic mobility initiatives.

A key driver of the improved financial performance was commercial growth across major FIA-controlled properties, including Formula 1, WEC (World Endurance Championship), and WRC (World Rally Championship). Additional revenue also came from the renewal of the Formula E agreement, which contributed approximately €20 million.

The FIA highlighted that its transformation in recent years has created a more modern and agile organizational structure under the leadership of President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, focusing on governance, transparency, and financial sustainability.

In sport governance terms, 2025 also saw the signing of a renewed governance framework with Formula 1, known as the Concorde Agreement, reinforcing the regulatory structure between stakeholders in the sport.

Beyond elite racing, the FIA expanded its grassroots and development programs, including the launch of a new Karting World Cup “Arrive & Drive” format in Malaysia, which featured over 100 drivers from 50 countries and recorded the highest female participation rate in FIA karting history.

Overall, the federation describes 2025 as a milestone year that consolidates its financial recovery and strengthens its position for future investment in global motorsport.
