Football.com TV has launched a 24/7 digital network dedicated to football news, analysis and debate, with José Mourinho serving as its global ambassador. The platform will initially broadcast on YouTube, offering continuous football-focused programming without advertising breaks or the traditional scheduling restrictions of television.
The new venture aims to bring together the global football conversation, focusing not on live match broadcasts but on the stories surrounding the game, from pre-match analysis and fan reactions to post-match discussions and opinions.
Backed by Sporty Group, Football.com TV has assembled a roster of more than 150 journalists, broadcasters, former players, digital creators and emerging presenters from five continents. Among the names involved are former Barcelona player Jofre Mateu, former Newcastle United defender Warren Barton, Sebas Beron and Charlie Carrillo.
Live debate at the centre of the programming
Programming will run in live blocks throughout the day, with presenters joined by rotating panels of pundits and digital creators. The schedule will feature discussions on major football stories, live watchalongs around high-profile matches and interviews with prominent figures from across the sport.
Mourinho, one of football’s most recognisable figures, will represent the network as it seeks to build an international audience around personality-driven analysis and debate.
Elías Gallego, Sporty Group’s vice-president of media, marketing and business development, said the project was designed to address the limitations of traditional football media, which often operates through country-specific outlets, individual programmes and fixed schedules.
“Football is global, but traditional football media is still largely built around individual countries, standalone shows and fixed schedules,” Gallego said. “Football.com TV starts with a very simple idea: the conversation about football never stops.”
He added that the platform would bring together voices from around the world while giving audiences a more active role in the conversation.
Expansion beyond YouTube
Football.com TV is launching as a fully digital product on YouTube, with plans to expand to additional streaming platforms.
The launch also builds on Football.com’s broader digital strategy. The company recently introduced its LiveScore app on Android, combining real-time scores with features designed for modern football fans.
With its round-the-clock format, international contributor network and emphasis on live discussion, Football.com TV is positioning itself as a global destination for football content beyond the live match itself.
